Reverend Catherine Snipes-Washington, was born on April 28, 1941, to the late Mr. O.B. Miller Sr., and the late Mrs. Janie P Folk Miller, in Brundidge, Alabama. Reverend Washington was the second eldest out of 10 children: Carolyn, Beatrice, Annie Clyne, Angienet, O.B. Jr., Millie, Maxine, Kizer and Willie Frank. From an early age, her parents taught her by precept and example the virtues of living a consecrated life dedicated to living a Godly life and walking with the Lord. Reverend Washington, gave her life to Christ, was baptized, and joined the AME Church of Brundidge Alabama. When her parents relocated to Moncks Corner, South Carolina, she joined the Saint James AME Church, which later merged with the Graham AME Church, forming Moncks Corner AME Church in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Reverend Washington, served as a faithful member of the Jubilee Choir and the Usher Board, until she accepted a higher calling of service unto the Lord. Under the pastorate of the late Rev James Glisson, she preached her trial sermon and became a Licentric of Moncks Corner AME Church. She later became a Local Itinrant Elder under the pastorate of Elder Rev Dr. Sandy Drayton. In 2006 Reverend Washington decided to move to Saint Louis, Missouri with her daughter Evangelist Janette McKinney and family. While in living in Saint Louis Reverend Washington became a member of Tri-Union AME and was elected to Pastor Buren Chapel AME in Herculaneum, Missouri for one year. Reverend Washington later joined Way of Life Church in Saint Louis, Missouri under Bishop Anita Kelley. In 2015 Reverend Washington moved back to South Carolina and continued to ministered when able to.
Reverend Washington, was educated in the Berkeley County School System, she furthered her education and became a certified CNA, and a Home Health Nurse in both Berkeley and Charleston counties. She also worked for the Medical University of South Carolina, there she employed as an Administrative Assistant and an Anatomy Technician in the Department of Anatomy and college of Science.

Reverend Washington, was a united in Holy matrimony to the late Leroy Snipes of Strawberry, South Carolina from this union several children where born. Reverend Washington raised ten children: Rayvon, John, Eddie Charles, Ralph, Janice, Janette, Regina, Keith, TaWanda and Stephen with the fear of Lord. Also, with this union she welcomed and loved Albertha Myers daughter of Mr. Leroy Snipes. She loved spending time with her children and taking on car rides on nice days. She enjoyed having fun, joking, cooking, fishing, sewing, home decorating, gardening, sports and family gatherings. Reverend Washington remained single parent for many years until God placed the late Moses Washington in her life. Where she added four more daughters to her family Lelia, Mildred, Willa Mae, Emma Jane. Moses was love her life until God called him to his eternal home. Reverend Washington adopted Mahalia(Helen) and husband Greg Lawrence & family into her family. Reverend Washington loved to spend time with her grandchildren by taking them to the Flea Market in Columbia, South Carolina where she sold fruit, vegetables, cookies, cakes and pies. She also was a store front owner where she custom made blankets, sheets, drapes, wedding dresses, and alterations. This is where many grandchildren learned about business and the art of customer service.
